コース概要： Similar to last term’s course on ‘Scandinavian Welfare and Wellbeing’, we will cover a variety of topics related to welfare and wellbeing in the Nordic countries. While you will learn more about the Nordic countries, the course is meant to inspire reflection on welfare and wellbeing in your own life as well. Making use of a variety of visuals and materials, the course will be a mix of lectures and discussion, and active participation is greatly encouraged. You are more than welcome to join ‘Scandinavian Welfare and Wellbeing 2’ even if you did not join last term’s ‘Scandinavian Welfare and Wellbeing’.

In this session, we will take a closer look at the indigenous peoples of Sápmi (the region of the Sámi people stretching over four countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia) and Greenland. We will also learn about minority communities on the border of for example Germany and Denmark, and discuss the benefits and challenges of modern-day immigration.
